Celebrating Failures

Bagikan :

Before March ends, lemme join the celebration of international women’s day!

.

Made this video two months ago for my application to @wedu.global @ysealiwomen women’s leadership academy. Since I’m not selected (failed but proud wkwkwk), lemme post this video shamelessly in my personal instagram account to boost my energy as I feel kinda desperate and hopeless lately. For the past couple of days, I’ve been thinking over and over “Why am I choosing this tough road? Should it be this hard? Should I stop this and make a turn before it gets worse? etcetc”.

.

While looking back two months ago, I made this video excitedly and felt very proud of myself as this path is something I expect to be worth the fight. After digging various facts on women’s participation in the strategic level of public health policy in Indonesia and across the globe, I feel triggered and thrilled. I want to be a part of the journey to challenge the status quo. I’d like to quote a powerful statement from Kankshhi Agrawal, “Even when women are 50% of the workforce, they are still under-represented in leadership. This is a systemic issue, not a demand and supply issue… The “unentitled mindset” means that many women are conditioned to expect less and demand less. We must fight a system that oppresses women and change this mindset.”

.

So here, I would like to remind myself that… keep going, even if it’s hard, keep going.

Maybe it’s a little too late, but Happy International Women’s Day!

.

Knowing that it would not be an easy journey, but let’s fight! Let’s all choose to challenge!
